Comment
This painting is divided into three parts: a) Chorus of young girls and boys. In the center, the playmaker performs a mimed dance. b) Two dancers do a mimed battle, this dance originates from the east of Bali. c) The fast of Arjuna. Arjuna is the hero of ancient Mahabarat. Here we will see two of his servants, celestial nymphs, a terrible bear sent by the god Shiva, and Shiva himself trying to break Arjuna's fast. (Cf.
